The Astronomer’s Tower
The first part of the epic castle comes in the form of the Astronomer’s Tower. On the bottom floor of the tower there is a cabinet that vanishes which will amaze any child that sets eyes on it. You will find that on the middle floor there is a library and on the top floor of the tower there is a telescope. There is room to add the mini figures that you get included in this set, which are outlined above.
The Grand Stair Case Tower
The second part of the castle is the Grand Staircase Tower which comes in four sections. The bottom floor has the Slytherin Common Room and a castle knight figurine on the middle floor. If you pay careful attention to detail you will notice that Tom Riddle’s (Lord Voldemort) book is hidden behind the armour of the knight.
The top floor has the Gryffidor Common Room – it a has a fireplace with the face of Sirius in the flames. The the very top part of the castle there are messenger owls which add an extra little something to the overall character of the castle – the attention to detail is so great that you can even see bird dropping on the top of the tower!
The Great Hall
Next up is the Great Hall. This section is probably the most detailed section of the whole castle, so much so that if this was the only piece to the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle then it’s still worthy of the price tag it commands.
The dining hall is a part of the Great Hall and comes with two tables, cups, cake and would you believe it, even a turkey – the hall is made up of Slytherin and Gryffindor colours. The Great Hall is probably the most difficult part of the castle to piece together, so help from adults could be required at this point.
Diumbledore’s Office
The final piece to the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle is Dumbledore’s Office. The best part of this section has to be the slide out stair case on the bottom floor. Then we have the second floor which accommodates Dumbledore’s office – there are great details such as a globe and hidden compartments to explore.
I have found only one real downside to castle overall and that is the lack of inclusion of the character Ron Weasley, which is slightly strange, but can be overcome by purchasing him separately if completely necessary.
